PDF Creators for Painters

In our last installment of our series on tools, I went over keyword research tools and what I felt was the best one to use. In this installment, I am going to go over PDF creator tools, which is something else that is hard to live without.

If you’ve been in Internet marketing for any length of time, you’ve no doubt bought several, if not many ebooks. Most of them are probably in PDF format. Well, without some kind of tool to create these PDF files, they simply would not exist.

Fortunately, the Internet is loaded with PDF creation tools, some of them even free. Makes you wonder why somebody would create a free tool to do something that is so imperative to running your business, unless of course you don’t create your own products. Most marketers eventually do get into product creation, even if it’s not until they’ve been at this for a few years.

Well, I’m not going to argue with the generous folks who have made these tools available. I’m just going to start to go over some of the great tools for creating PDF files that we have available to us.

Probably the best tool for creating PDF files is also the cheapest…it’s free. I’m talking about Open Office. Not only can you create PDF files with Open Office but you can also use it as a word processor, spreadsheet program, database program and a lot of other things. The only drawback to Open Office is that it’s a pretty large download and there is a bit of a learning curve. Plus, you have to make sure that your system can run it properly. But once you get past all that, you’ve got a tool that can do just about anything.

However, if you’ve already got Microsoft Word, then you probably don’t want to mess with Open Office. In that case, there is a PDF creator that I use that works wonders and it’s not very expensive at all. It’s BCL Easy PDF. It loads right into Word as a macro and with the touch of a button it will create your PDF.

One of the things I love about this PDF creator, and this isn’t something that all PDF creators do, is that it preserves all the links in your document so that they can be clicked on. It is done automatically when the PDF file is created.

A lot of people think that PDF files will someday be a thing of the past, especially with video getting to be so big today. Well, I don’t doubt that a lot of products will be made into video form, but there are still a lot of people who still like to read. I’m one of them and personally, if I’m buying an informational product, I like the convenience of being able to turn to a page and start reading.

So take it from me, PDF files and PDF file creation tools aren’t going anywhere.

And I couldn’t be happier.
