Why do you need links to your site? Well it is a long and detailed issue but the sum of it is the search engines rank your web site by how many links (think friends) are coming into your pages. They check them out and if there are lots of folks sending links your way (and if they are relevant ot your content even better) then the SE feels your site is more valuable and therefore they rank you higher. Without links you go nowhere in the SE’s. With link love you rank higher and get more free organic traffic to your pages. Free is always good.
