In our last installment of marketing tools, I went over PDF creation tools and my personal picks. In this installment, I’m going to cover a topic that I know everybody is anxious to sink their teeth into. So I might as well get it over with. You’re going to enjoy this installment if you’ve got any sense of larceny in you.
Blackhat SEO tactics are as controversial as they are popular. So many people say that they’d never do any blackhat stuff, but given the chance, most of them would IF they could get away with it. Well, the ethics issue is not the issue of this installment. All I’m going to do here is tell you about some of the tools you have available to you and what you can do with them. Enjoy!
One popular blackhat SEO tool is what they call a nonsense generator. A nonsense generator allows you to create sentences that really don’t make any sense but are grammatically correct. This way you can make sentences that are keyword rich without having to actually type them up. Blackhatters make great use of this tool.
Another popular blackhat SEO tool is Article Bot. Oh yeah, article writers, or should I say non writers, love this tool. Basically what it does is create articles for you that are grammatically correct but don’t really make a lot of sense. Oh, the tool has gotten better over the course of time, but it’s not as good as the real thing…actually writing the article yourself. Still, people use it and you can pick up a copy of it for about $40 per month. Yes, per month.
Then of course we have things like data scrapers. These are programs that basically spider other people’s sites and scrape content from them, such as articles or even meta tags. Heck, some of these programs will lift the whole site so that you can just plunk it down on your own server. I’m not going to give out any names here. You can go out and find them for yourself. Just do a search for “content scrapers.”
Then we have cloaking tools, of which the most popular is probably Shadowmaker. This stuff gets pretty sophisticated. Cloaking is basically used for web sites that search engines don’t particularly like as far as ranking because they either have dynamically created content or lots of graphics. In order to get these sites ranked, we need to do a little cloaking, which basically makes it so that the search engines actually think that your site has content on it that is either not dynamic or not mostly graphics. This helps your site get ranked higher.
The scary part is, this short list doesn’t even scratch the surface. There are tools that do just about anything that you can possibly think of, including link spamming tools that would make your hair stand on end.
The bad part about a lot of these tools is that they only work for a limited time and then you have to move onto another site.
But, as long as these tools are available, people are going to use them.
